Getting your car ready for a Camden summer

Camden summers are hot, and heat is hard on a car. A few small checks now will save you a breakdown on the worst possible day. Here’s our quick pre-summer once-over.
Air-conditioning
If your air-con isn’t blowing properly cold, it’s usually low on refrigerant — sometimes a leak. A re-gas and a quick leak check gets your cabin comfortable again before the heatwave.
Battery
Heat actually kills batteries faster than cold. If your car has been slow to start, get the battery and charging system tested — a two-minute check now beats a flat battery in a hot car park.
Tyres and coolant
- Check tyre tread and pressures — hot roads punish worn tyres
- Top up and check your coolant so the engine doesn’t run hot
- Keep your windscreen washer topped up for dust and bugs
